2010, Season Of The Witch

Season of the Witch is an upcoming supernatural thriller film directed by Dominic Sena and starring Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman.

Nicolas Cage is a 14th-century knight who has just returned from the Crusades, and is forced to transport a suspected witch (played by Claire Foy) to a monastery where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague that has been ravaging the land.

2010, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

The movie, starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel, is based on “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” section of Disney’s animated feature Fantasia.

The movie begins production this month (april 2009) under the direction of Jon Turteltaub, who has worked with both Cage and Bruckheimer before on the National Treasure films.

No word yet if Cage will wear the mouse ears.

2009 Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

The remake of the 1992 film Bad Lieutenant was first announced in May 2008 with Werner Herzog to direct and Nicolas Cage to star.

The script for the remake was penned by TV writer William Finkelstein. One major change from the original film was moving the setting from New York City to New Orleans.

Herzog insists that the film is not a remake, saying, “It only has a corrupt policeman as the central character and that’s about it.”

Hitman Joe (Nicolas Cage) goes to Bangkok for a month-long assignment, to kill four people for Bangkok ganglord Surat.

Kong pickpocket is hired as his go-between, a condition of the contract being that the gang will never meet Joe.

Joe’s first execution is done in traffic and is shooted with machine pistol,with him riding a bike and stopping in front of the car. A predator is the second target. Joe kills him by drowning him in pool.

2007, National Treasure: Book of Secrets

Five days after the end of the Civil War, John Wilkes Booth and Michael O’Laughlen, both members of the KGC, enter a tavern and approach Thomas Gates a well-known puzzle solver, to decode a coded message written in Booth’s diary.

Thomas recognizes the message as using the Playfair cipher and begins to translate it. While he does so, Booth leaves for Ford’s Theatre to assassinate President Lincoln. Thomas solves the puzzle, a clue to a treasure map…

In the scene where Nicolas Cage is zapping through TV channels, he stops at one showing the movie Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), leaving it on for the FBI to listen to.

The plot of “Dr. Strangelove” is about a rogue general attempting to start a nuclear holocaust with a wayward nuke. An obvious reference to the nuke in Next (2007).

The Cliffhanger motel is actually a restaurant located on Highway 18 near Crestline, CA, in the San Bernardino Mountains.

The “girl with necklace” at his magic show is played by Alice Kim Cage, Nicolas Cage’s wife.
